Joseph N. Cascio son of Mr and Mrs Cascio of West Main Street was promoted to first lieutenant at the Boston port of embarkation where he serves with the army transportation corps. He previously earned a second lieutenant commission after completing candidate school in June 1943 and served in Canada’s Hudson Bay region before returning to the United States last summer at Boston. Cascio, a Somerset County Bar member, was the second bar entrant called to service and is a graduate of Somerset High School Franklin and Marshall College Lancaster Phi Beta Kappa with strong academics and athletics.
