Somerset's Help Center and Halfway House will open a detox and recovery program for public intoxication funded by a 104 600 grant from the National Institute of Alcohol and Alcohol Abuse. The project aims to relieve police workload and provide humane treatment with a 72 hour hold if needed, though most stays last under 24 hours. The facility includes detox on the first floor and a Halfway House upstairs offering therapy, counseling, and Alcoholics Anonymous sessions. Open July 1 with vans arriving in September due to funding.
