Tressler Barn Destroyed by Fire Near Confluence
Fire swept through the Tressler farm between Confluence and Addison on Campround Hill early Tuesday. James Tressler awoke to cracking glass and found the outbuilding and barn in flames. Firefighters from Confluence and Addison battled the blaze, with much machinery lost and hay stored in the barn destroyed. No injuries reported and cattle were in pasture. The farm, bought on a GI loan in 1955, had recently been home to the Tressler family.

An 11 year old Portage R D J Enild was admitted to Windber hospital with first second and third degree burns to the lower body and both arms. He is David Rorabaugh, son of Mr and Mrs Samuel Rorabaugh. The boy was near a fire at home when his clothes caught fire and he is reported in serious condition. Don Shaffer received a laceration to the right thumb when a car differential dropped on his hand and was treated at Windber hospital.
