Rock crushes miner in Brookwood mine tragedy
In Philipsburg on June 21 an accident at the Brockwood mine left Alex Emala 40 a Houtzdale miner dead after a rock heavy enough to need nine men to lift fell on him as he pulled pillars. He left three children. Earlier a rock fall at Pleasant Hill mine killed 54 year old Andrew Kendrick of Glassflat. his son nearby was unhurt.
