Bridge Collapse Stops Rockwood Fire Truck on Narrow Span
A Shamrock bridge over Coxes Creek near Rockwood gave way Friday afternoon under a Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department 1954 pumper en route to a fire on Chessie System tracks. The truck escaped with no injuries as its rear deck snagged the bridge, and both the truck and bridge were damaged. the fire was extinguished with portable tanks and minimal further damage reported.
