Fugitive Captured After Rural Chase in Jefferson Township
Sgt J A Blair and Pvt Elmer Schmoyer chased fugitive Wilson Wiley through swamp and mud in Jefferson Township late Thursday. Wiley, a laborer from Stoystown, was captured near Stoystown and jailed in Somerset awaiting Maryland officers. Maryland later said Wiley escaped custody there while held on bastardy charges and he agreed to extradite to Maryland to face the charges.
