Chessie Special Steams Into Rockwood Sunday
Rockwood Borough welcomes the Chessie Special steam engine for a 150th anniversary observance. Frost Causes Local Crop Damage In Somerset County
County extension director James A. Bochy says frost touched down Wednesday in Somerset County, with 10 acres of eight inch corn on Robert Marteeny’s farm suffering damage. Temperatures fell to 28 to 36 degrees, and a low spot near Cox's Creek contributed to the frost. CETA Funds Create 125 Jobs in Somerset County
CETA Title IV funds will create 125 jobs in Somerset County starting this month. Meyersdale Borough and Somerset School District received the largest shares of the $615,000.
