Nixon Middle East swing schedule outlined for June 12 18

Judge orders education fund for victim’s children in red light death
In Miami Florida Circuit Court Judge Sidney Weaver ordered Richard Urso to pay 1500 a year for five years for the education of Gregory Pough 2 and Sabrina 6, instead of five years in prison. The $7500 fund will be placed in a trust and used for college expenses when the children turn 18. Urso pleaded no contest to manslaughter in the Oct. 25 death of Raymond Pough and remains on probation.

Somerset Humane Society presses for funding from County Commissioners

Nixon Abolishes Cold War Subversive List
President Nixon ended the Truman era subversive organizations list used to screen federal job applicants. An executive order by Nixon scrapped the 1947 list, kept by the Justice Department under Truman, citing no useful purpose. Attorney General Saxbe said the list, once home to about 300 groups, is largely obsolete with only about 30 groups still active.
