Baton Highlanders win two parade firsts over July 4
The Laurel Highlands Baton and Drum Corps of Somerset won two first place awards in district parades within 16 hours during the July 4 holiday. They captured Senior Division first at the Windber Fire Company's 1973 celebration for a $100 prize and then won baton and drum category at the Greater Latrobe Fourth of July celebration.
