James Sutton Blair, 83, a Somerset and Westmoreland county lumberman and former borough councilman, died Christmas morning at Indiana Hospital Indiana Pa. He led First National Bank Indiana and the Blair and South Tennessee Lumber companies, and held interests in local PW&S railroad era tracts. Blair, a graduate of Indiana Normal School and Princeton, was vice president of Indian Creek Lumber and treasurer of Blair Coal Company.

Two Meyersdale Fires Struck Within Half Hour
Meyersdale volunteers faced two fires in quick succession on Saturday afternoon.
