Oil City Man Dies in Hospital Before Discharge
John W. Fawcett 58 of Oil City collapsed and died at Oil City hospital forty minutes before planned discharge after a minor operation. A former oilman and at the time an investigator for the state department of labor and industry he was from a prominent local family. Survived by wife, son John W. A Western Airlines plane missing since Christmas Eve was located on a 6,000 foot Cuyapaipe peak in the La Gune mountains, 50 miles east of San Diego. All nine passengers and three crew members died.
