Goeb Bible Found in Kansas Amid Lost Historic Copies
A rare 1813 Frederick Goeb Bible was found in Baker University storage in Baldwin Kansas. Only 72 complete copies exist with a Goeb translation of Luther German text. The discovery came with an 1833 Noah Webster Bible and notes on Goeb's typography and distribution in early America.

A 55 year old Somerset County businessman was fined 20000 in U S District Court after pleading guilty to income tax evasion and nonpayment of excise taxes. Glenn E Thiele of Windber R D 1 was given six months in jail, suspended on payment of fine and costs, and placed on two years probation. The government said he evaded 4473 in 1961 and had income of 22363 but declared 6650, plus 31284 in excise taxes on truck bodies from 1960 to 1963.
