Peterman Fatally Injured in Mine Accident at Tire Hill
Howard Peterman of Kantner died after a rock slab crushed his forehead in the Bird Coal Co No 2 mine at Tire Hill. The 53 year old was dead on arrival at Johnstown Memorial Hospital from a fractured skull and shock. State and Federal mine inspectors planned to visit the scene the next day. Funeral arrangements are set with Berkebile funeral home Hooversville.
