Horace Bunn Philson prominent Berlin banker and Somerset County figure died at his Broadway home after a brief illness. Born February 11 1859 he led Berlin and Meyersdale banking history for 75 years and was active in Masonry church and civic groups. Funeral services were set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Philson home with burial in the Berlin I O O F cemetery.

In Philadelphia a 34 year old mother, Mrs. Mary Moore of Collegeville, survived 24 hours after doctors believed her dead following an operation to set a fractured leg.
