Ohio Town Finances Transplant
Thirteen year old Linda Walland of Port Clinton is in good condition at Cleveland Clinic after receiving a kidney transplant funded by a 28000 dollar town drive. The donor was a 16 year old boy who died of a gunshot wound. The donor’s second kidney went to a New York woman. Linda had Bright's disease and had been treated with dialysis since September after kidneys were removed a month earlier.

Longshoremen Strike Resumes On East And Gulf Coasts
The 75,000 longshore workers resumed a strike in East and Gulf Coast ports after a closed door meeting between International Longshoremen Association president Thomas Gleason and presidential fact finder David Cole. Dispute centers on expanding the master contract to cover containers and other clauses. Wages have been agreed to rise by 1.60 an hour over the three-year contract, now at 3.62.
