Fire Claims Two On Ohio River Houseboat
John Bayliss aged 63 and his cousin Eva Myrtle Bailey aged 61 died today when their houseboat burned near the East Liverpool Newell bridge on the Ohio river shore. Local authorities report the blaze occurred near East Liverpool Ohio and Newell West Virginia.

A Meadville man burned erecting television aerial
Edwin H. Gourley, 26, was severely burned after contacting a high voltage line while handling an angle iron to erect a TV aerial. The electric arc injured his chest back and hands as the wire passed over his father’s rural hotel on Route 19. Firemen rescued him and he was taken to Spencer Hospital.

Dr. Colvin Dies After Illness at 71 in Somerset
Dr. Ronald Burns Colvin, 71, of McKinley Place East Main street Somerset, died Tuesday night after three weeks of severe illness and a year of declining health. Born Schellsburg March 24, 1878, he was the oldest practicing dentist in Somerset, a University of Maryland graduate 1902, and affiliated with the American Dental Association and several Masonic lodges. Survived by wife Frances Penrose Colvin and children Mrs. Richard H. Kris singer Johnstown, Robert and Isabel R. Colvin of Somerset, eight grandchildren, and siblings A. W. Colvin Mrs. Maurice Brant Mrs. O. B. Hyde and Dr. D. C. Colvin. Funeral plans incomplete. prayers at Hoffman Funeral Home. Mrs Colvin ill at home.

Postmaster Oscar F Sutliffe reports Monday cancellations of first class mail at 63 752 pieces the biggest in history. Tuesday's total 42 559 includes a large Christmas mail load.
