Veterans In Hospital Get Christmas Party Cheer
Eighteen World War I veterans in the Somerset state hospital were honored Friday evening by members of the Military Order of Cooties Corollettes VFW groups and the American Legion. A hospital visiting room gathering featured a lunch prepared by the Cootlettes, fruit and nut baskets, and gifts of cigarets and candy. Cigar etts and oranges were left for distribution on Christmas day. Hospital supervisor A S Thompson noted it as the nicest treat in a long time.

Polish-born bank robber John Mosczynski alias Shorty Tanski, linked to the 1929 Central City National Bank heist, was pardoned and had his sentence commuted on state pardon board recommendations.
