A Boston woman, Mrs. Jessie Robinson, was head injured when the car driven by Charles S. Robinson struck a stalled turnpike grader on the pike near the Somerset interchange. The grader was operated by Ira Latterly of Somerset. Damages to Robinson’s car were listed at $800.

Giant reverse airlift saves Yonpo airfield in Korea
Yonpo air field near Hungnam was abandoned to Chinese forces after U S demolition. An enormous airlift then operated from a new beachhead airstrip six miles east of Yonpo to fly wounded soldiers to hospitals and salvage army and air force supplies while live ammunition was stockpiled.
