Area Personality Miss Anna Belle Dietz
Miss Anna Belle Dietz 230 West Church Street court reporter at the Somerset County Court house has been named area Personality of the Week by the Somerset Daily American. Born in Sipesville daughter of Mrs Grace M Dietz and the late William Dietz she moved to Johnstown then Salisbury High School and Catherman's Business School in Cumberland Maryland. She came to Somerset in 1919 and worked for district attorney Virgil Saylor then as secretary for Kooser and Kooser and later for Shaver and Heckman Law Firm before 20 years as a legal secretary. In 1944 Judge Norman Boose appointed her court reporter under Judge Thomas Lansberry. She recalls covering a murder case without courtroom experience when the regular reporter was hospitalized. She is a member of Calvary United Methodist Church American Legion and Somerset Country Club and enjoys golf.
