Ten children and bus driver die in Newberry train collision
A fog blocked crossing near Silverstreet South Carolina when a Southern Railway passenger train struck a loaded school bus. Ten pupils aged 7 to 13 and the bus driver were killed. Eleven others were hospitalized with critical injuries. The crash occurred around 8 10 am as the train from Greenville to Columbia hit the side of the bus and dragged it about a quarter mile.
