Dozen Die as Auto and Train Collide in Phoenix
Twelve of thirteen people crammed into a car were killed when it collided with the Southern Pacific Golden State Limited near Phoenix at a level crossing. An 18 month old girl survived with a skull fracture. Victims include nine members of the Alires family and others from Phoenix. Both train and car reportedly traveled 70 to 80 mph. the train had no injuries.
