The Weather Bureau projects below normal temperatures for most of the nation for the next 30 days from mid December 1955 to mid January 1956. Temperatures should be above normal in the southwest and near normal along the Gulf Coast and in northern New England. Northern plains and western regions face the coldest weather with above average snow and rain in the northern third of the country. Rainfall will be above normal on the West Coast and below normal in the East. Subnormal precipitation expected in the southern half, except near the Tennessee Valley and Gulf Coast.

In Pittsburgh area, a $38,220 shortage at the suburb South Hills branch of the Commonwealth Trust Co. led to the arrest of teller E. C. Hammack and salesman Arthur G. Josephson. Hammack faces embezzlement and conspiracy charges while Josephson is charged with conspiracy and passing worthless checks. Both men posted $10,000 bond to await grand jury action. Josephson allegedly passed about 80 bad checks over two years, with Hammack allegedly taking a present for every bad check.

Boncoski Case Dismissed On Demurrer In Homicide Charge
The case against Peter Boncoski Jr. was thrown out of Somerset County Court on a demurrer by defense attorney William Kimel. Boncoski faced involuntary manslaughter charges from a Sept 8 1955 crash near Jenner Cross Roads that killed Marie Shaffer. A coroner's inquest heard he may have turned the wheel to Shaffer after leaving the Old Tavern. The same day Thomas Walker faced related charges over an April 23 Route 219 crash that killed Fred Weyand and Richard Fenna, with Earl Watkins hospitalized. Dr H E Musser testified about death from a crushed skull hours after admission. A half day of court was scheduled for today.

700 Students Return to Redstone Two Classrooms
In Uniontown on December 16, about 700 of 890 registered students returned to Redstone High School after a four day protest over the forced retirement of supervising principal Clarence Hess. Hess, 63, had the retirement age cut from 65 to 62 by the school board last Friday and appealed to students urging reinstatement. He plans to ask Fayette County Common Pleas Court on Monday to order the board to show cause why he should not be reinstated.
