Harrisburg reports from the State Game Commission show preliminary figures indicating over 80 000 deer were bagged in 1947. The total is expected to exceed 1946 by more than double and tops since 1941 with 186 000 deer killed during a general cleanup hunt. Illegal kills estimated at about 3090 amid 12 day regular season and one day antlerless hunt errors. Final tabulation awaits successful hunters reports. six hunters were killed and non fatal shootings totaled 51, up from 37 in 1946.
