Burglars Loot Berlin Store Stealing $900 in Goods
Robbers entered John Groff's Berlin department store by removing a rear window and stole more than $900 worth of merchandise. The alarm rang at about 1 a.m. Monday as owner Mr. Groff spotted a shaking window frame and a departing car. Various clothing items and accessories were taken, clothes found in the burglars’ discarded clothing. Police investigated and pursued a crucial clue held by state police.

No Foul Play In Death Of Mukina
Coroner Ed Lowrey and Chief of Police George Haehn reported no foul play in the death of John Mukina a 26 year old former soldier from Edinboro. The body was found in a mill race with the aid of grappling hooks near the spot he disappeared last Wednesday. Mukina's relatives and hunting companions were visiting when he vanished during a lunch break. The body was taken to the Mukina family home in Edinboro. He is survived by parents Mr and Mrs Albert Mukina three brothers Frank George and Andrew and three sisters Mary Anna Stella and Mrs Nell Rambler of Cleveland.

Car Crash On Icy Route 277 Claims One Life
A two car collision on ice coated Route 277 near the Erie Crawford county line left one man dead and three injured. Ernest Allen 42 of Corry died from a fractured skull and chest injuries. His brother Harley Allen 46 was listed in serious condition at Corry hospital. Mr and Mrs Clarence Vanderhoff of Spartansburg were treated for minor injuries at the same hospital.
