Plan Would Triple Social Security Payroll Tax Ceiling

Fire devastates Meyersdale home injuring resident
Merle Hoover, 62, suffered second and third degree burns over 50 percent of his body in a Meyersdale fire. His wife Hilda and son John were treated for facial burns and released. Firefighters faced wind and cold as flames erupted at 6 50 p.m. and the blaze was controlled by 9 30 p.m. Fire chief Simon Yoder leads investigation into the cause. Fireman Mark Swanhart was knocked unconscious while preventing a motorist from driving over a hose. he was treated and released. Four trucks and 30 men responded to the fire.
