Boro Council Accepts Bids For Fuel Oil And More
The Somerset borough council met Monday night and approved a fuel oil bid of 13.65 cents per gallon for heating borough buildings. The contract was split between Luther Miller and the Somerset Gasoline Company. The meeting also authorized a group hospitalization program for borough employees and approved payments for Lincoln Street contract work. The council reviewed the sixth annual consulting engineers’ report on the thorough water system and agreed to forward the annual sewer report to the trustee. Parking changes were approved including 30 minute signs on South Kimberly Avenue and no parking signs on East South Edgewood Avenue. The merchantile and business privilege tax ordinances were adopted with a related explanatory mailing planned.
