Rest Home Fire Toll Rises With Two More Deaths
In Germantown Maryland the Marylander Rest home fire death toll rose to six with the deaths of two more inmates. Dr Elizabeth Hampson 87 died of smoke inhalation at Suburban hospital and Anne Lamborn 83 died at Washington Sanitarium Takoma Park. Fifteen others hospitalized.

Fire department canvass Monday evening in Somerset for Muscular Dystrophy funds yielded no final total by Tuesday evening. Chief Newt Picking noted donations still arriving and encouraged checks to Muscular Dystrophy sent to him or the department. 18 crew members led by Bill Barnhart Bob Moyer Lester Ferner and Art Hartzell spearheaded the drive.
