A 19 year old Somerset youth tells FBI and state police he was abducted Sunday night near the post office by four masked men. Two soldiers and a 14 year old Westmoreland County boy are detained in Somerset jail on kidnapping and delinquency charges as federal action is pursued.

Fire damages Beta Kappa house at Susquehanna University
In Selinsgrove yesterday a basement fire at the Beta Kappa fraternity damaged personal belongings and furniture and spread to the roof via a laundry chute. Damage was about 3000 dollars. Firemen contained the blaze with no injuries. Albert Cage, a recent pledge, was checked on by his mother after a telephone message.

Seriously Hurt Saving Father as Home Burns
Norma Muckle age nineteen was badly burned while rescuing her sleeping father Charles Muckle from a home fire in Charleroi. The father, a 43 year old mill worker at Allenport steel works, was in fair condition at Charleroi Monessen hospital with burns to chest arms and face. A son George discovered the blaze and Norma aided by breaking a locked window and tearing off her father’s burning clothes. Fire Chief Adrian Wray said the loss was about 5000 dollars.
