Jenners Water System Must Be Renovated

A Neilan Engineers study for Jenner Township officials and the Jenner Township Water Authority concludes the current Jenners water system is impractical to renew. Contaminated deep well water with rising treatment costs prompts a plan to raise Spruce Run storage from 300000 to 3 million gallons, install a pumping station, a 100000 gallon tank, new pipelines, and expand service to Gray Ferrellton and beyond at an estimated 368000 dollars. The Jenner system will operate as a branch of the Jenner Township Water Authority with seven directors.

Miller Named Officer In Charge Of Somerset Post Office

Earl R. Miller of Somerset has been named officer in charge of the Somerset Post Office following the retirement of George Cassett the postmaster. Miller, a World War II veteran, has served as assistant postmaster since April 1962 and began his postal career in 1946. He will hold the temporary post until a permanent postmaster is appointed by the Erie district manager.
