Seven Hour Fire Destroys Wheeling Steel Plant Site

A company spokesman called the damage serious. the cause appeared to be a welder arc in an elevator shaft. Filwood Yoder of Rockwood was exonerated and blame placed on Paul Brugh for an accident on the Water Level road September 11, 1946. Brugh was ordered to pay Harold D. Ankeny $1,700 for injuries. Burned man found near lime kiln identified as John Shevak
A badly burned body by a lime kiln near Claridge was identified by relatives as John Shevak, past 70, of Luxor. Detectives say he wandered from home, walked about 10 miles to Claridge, sat to warm himself, and was overcome by fumes before his clothing caught fire. He was last seen Saturday night.
