Bitter cold grips Pennsylvania with record low readings across cities and counties. Wind driven snow and ice coated highways trigger hazardous driving and mass cancellations for deer hunters and travelers.
Bitter cold grips New England with near zero readings and a 20 to 25 mph northwest wind. Northern Maine lies under a two to three inch snow cover as temperatures fall to five to ten below, while Greenville sees snow that spreads the chill toward the central state. The cold extends from Ohio to New England and down toward the Carolinas.

Sammy Yoder five year old son of Mr and Mrs Bruce Yoder of Frien ens R D 2 was injured when the front wheel of his father's car passed over him early Monday evening.
