William Meyers and William Heart of Westmoreland County spent Tuesday night wandering in freezing rain and snow on Negro mountain south of Rockwood. Lost after helping a missing hunter, they kept awake by jarring each other and surviving until a farmhouse rescue at 9:20 AM Wednesday. Sheriff’s posse aided the search along with local volunteers.

Flyers Forced Down at Local Airport
Two young pilots in a Cub Trainer emergency landed at Rhoadsfield airport yesterday due to a blinding snow storm. They came from Altoona bound for Elkins West Virginia and stayed at the Ferner hotel after being driven there. Weather permitting they plan to depart today. no damage to the aircraft was reported.

Two Dead and Two Injured in Snowbound Head-On Crash
A blinding snowstorm set off a head-on collision on the road from Scalp Level to Pomeroy's Corners at 2 20 Wednesday afternoon. Gorge Foust 22 of Windber RD 1 died later from a fractured skull and broken neck. The crash injured Ross Weaver 19 and James Carmony of Central City while James T Fagan Scalp Level burgess sustained facial lacerations and jaw fracture. Police report vehicle damage of 200 and 500 respectively. An inquest will be held after hospital recovery.

Two Beaver county brothers Belmont Estes and Robert Estes were held without bail on charges of hijacking a truckload of poultry and eggs valued at 2000 dollars and kidnapping driver Arthur Laipply of Decatur.
