Infantrymen repulse wave of Reds near Bu Dop camp

American infantry backed by fighters beat back a large Viet Cong and North Vietnamese assault near the Bu Dop Special Forces camp near the Cambodian border. The week’s toll: 212 Americans killed, total battle deaths at 15,058. Casualties on both sides featured heavy fighting, napalm, and artillery as U.S. reinforcements arrived at Loc Ninh and Bu Dop.

On Friday December 1 Robert D Reed faces sentence for contributing to delinquency of minors and unlawful furnishing of minors with alcohol. Meyersdale Man Dies In Route 30 Truck Crash

Carl H. Smith a 45 year old Meyersdale truck driver died after his tractor trailer jackknifed on U S Route 30 north of Lancaster and struck an oncoming truck. He was a veteran driver for Spector Freight and a World War II veteran.

Insurance Firm Here Suspended in Somerset County

A second Somerset County insurance firm was barred from doing business by the State Insurance Department. Pittsburgh Mutual Insurance Co. of Rockwood was suspended, with Commissioner Maxwell seeking court appointment of a conservator to manage assets. The firm has provided only auto physical damage coverage and posted $443,000 in premiums for the first nine months.
