Fly-In Barbecue Highlights Somerset Aero Club Event
The Somerset Aero Club hosted a fly-in barbecue with about 250 chicken meals served and 120 guests paying for air rides based on weight. Pilots Saylor Martin Brant Merrill Weaver Shanks Knepper Gibbs reported excellent visibility. Passengers toured county points within 35 miles and two army helicopters made an unexpected landing. Dr Edward Shaffer of Boswell joined as a new pilot after earning his private license. The non profit club funds and maintains county airport facilities including water, lights, beacons, markers, and an airport sign.

Ten divers begin a 45 day test of underwater endurance in Sealab 2-205 feet beneath the Pacific off La Jolla California.
