The Pennsylvania Forage Progress Field Days and State Plowing Championships include a new big plow division for four or more bottoms. The Neighborhood Youth Corps reports a busy year at Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset County. Projects included brushing and stump removal over eight acres to enable mowing, mowing 60 acres of camp and picnic areas, hauling shale across 97 camping sites, repairing and transporting about 50 picnic tables, brushing 11 miles of trails, cutting 15 dead trees, clearing ditches, and planting 50 trees. Laurel Hill spans over 4100 acres with group camping for 821 persons and 97 families, plus 200 more sites planned. Laurel Hill Park originated in 1935 as a Recreation Demonstration Area.
