Hold Two For Drunk Driving
State motor police at the Jenner town substation arrested two men for drunken driving Saturday. Van Rensselaer J. Kelly, 27, of Pittsburgh and Dan Gillooly of Akron, Ohio, were lodged in the county jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Kelly later waived preliminary hearing and posted bond for his release. Kelly was arrested in front of the Jennertown substation after the officers had been informed that a car weaving along the road was approaching from the west. Gillooly was arrested after his car had collided with a parked auto near Thomas Mills.

Roof Fire Threat Fails To Do Major Damage
Somerset volunteers quickly suppressed a porch roof fire at Oliver Fleming's home 412 West Patriot Street at 1 30 Monday morning. Firefighters chopped away tin roofing to reach flames and prevented spread as Mr and Mrs Fleming and their children were awakened by a passerby. Fire Chief Richard Pile could not determine the cause. damage was not serious.
