Employment Service Moves Into New Somerset Building
Herbert E Sann manager of the Somerset Pennsylvania State Employment Service announces the office will relocate Tuesday August 30 to 390 West Main Street Somerset from 433 West Patriot Street. The 3600 square foot facility, built by N Mangne and Son, houses testing, hearings, interviews, a lounge, rest rooms and a stock room with dedicated parking. The Field Accounting Service will also move to the new site and operations begin Wednesday August 31 at 8 30 a m.

Local Man Killed In Auto Crash in Bedford County
A Somerset man, Richard L. Shanks, 23, was killed when his car failed to negotiate a curve on Route 220 near Bedford Springs Hotel. Coroner S. Alton Barefoot said Shanks had a crushed skull and multiple injuries. A 19 year old passenger, Terry DeWayne Paxton of Listie, was injured. See LOCAL MAN on Page 2.

Mayview Hospital Called a Dumping Ground for Elderly
Dr. Regis Downey testified before a state committee that Mayview State Hospital houses 720 elderly non patients.
