A national study shows Somerset County incomes rose to a high level with disposable income reaching 253.4 million and median cash income at 6 242. Local households increased spending on cars appliances and home goods, boosting local retail sales to 135.8 million, up 14.7 percent from the year before, outpacing national and regional gains. Dairy Judging High Spot At County Fair Midpoint

Conemaugh School Board Ends Dress Code Debate

Somerset County Commissioners announced 1974 property valuations will be mailed soon and residents can appeal within 10 days of receiving the notice by sending a request to County Chief Assessor Humbert Newman. They denied a false report claiming appeals were barred after September and said the office will schedule the appeal after the request.
