Neighborhood Youth Corps Hosts Visitors at Mt Davis Site
A group of 19 high school boys from Meyersdale Salisbury Elk Lick Rockwood and Turkeyfoot Valley worked at the Mt Davis site the highest point in Pennsylvania. Dignitaries toured the area to view spring headwall drainage stream clearing and road work performed by the Neighborhood Youth Corps participants aged 16 to 20. The program funded under the Economic Opportunity Act is administered by the State YMCA with state and federal oversight.

Union Will Take Boost As Advance
The United Auto Workers press for at least a 50 cent hourly raise for skilled tradesmen and say any increase now would count as an advance on next year’s contracts. Chrysler plant shut down as 400 workers left to join GM picket line at headquarters. GM demo began with several hundred on the line.
