Three Farm Laborers Electrocuted While Chasing Rabbit
In Madera California three farm workers were electrocuted near Los Banos when a rabbit ran under an irrigation pipe. A truck load of laborers halted and five family members lifted the pipe to dislodge the rabbit. Julia Gonzales 41 her son Thomas 16 and nephew Noe Gonzales 19 died. DETROIT AP Three-year contracts calling for higher wages larger pensions and earlier retirement were offered their half million production workers Monday by General Motors Ford and Chrysler but they were quickly turned down as terribly disappointing by the United Auto Workers Union. The union, already in the process of taking a strike vote among workers in all three companies, called its GM Ford and Chrysler councils and its Executive Board to meet Thursday in Chicago.
