GI Dies In Accident On Pa Turnpike
Army private Haden D Brum beloc Jr., 20, a Lafayette, California native stationed at Ft Holabird, died from burns after his car collided head on with a tractor trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Allegheny Tunnel at 4 40 a m. The truck driver John T Satchell Jr., 47 of Craddockville Virginia was treated and released. Coroner said death due to burns of the entire body.

New Enemy Weapons Are Found Near Saigon
American and South Vietnamese troops uncovered large new enemy caches in a tunnel complex beneath villages 25 miles north of Saigon. The sweep yielded 500 rockets and rifle ammo plus 72 000 rounds for automatic weapons, aiming to disrupt a possible Viet Cong attack on Saigon. Ten Viet Cong fleeing militants were killed in a 15 minute clash Tuesday, and 17 prisoners were captured in Cat Dat tunnels. Military officials say about 25 000 civilians in the area sympathize with the Viet Cong and the route lies near a U.S. helicopter base and the 5th Infantry Division HQ.

Harrisburg AP. County treasurers will start accepting antlerless deer license applications on September 16. The Pennsylvania Game Commission plans 482 550 licenses for residents and nonresidents, each county’s quota set. A license costs 1.15 and is valid only in its issuing county. Nonresidents may not apply before November 16. The season dates have been set for December 16 and 17.

Fire destroys Miller home after hospital trip
A kitchen started blaze gutted the Kim Melton family home, causing about 12000 in damage. John D. Miller 12 broke his leg and was hospitalized. the rest of the family, six children, were away briefly.
