The Festival of the Dolls opens Thursday afternoon in the Somerset High School gymnasium and runs to 6:00 p.m. Saturday with daily showings from 2:90 to 6:00 p.m. and extra Friday 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 to 12:60. Dutch Kitchen on West Main street changed management August 15 with Harry E. Mankamier of 121 Missouri street named new proprietor. Final papers are being prepared for the purchase from Robert Dickey and William Corbett, who also runs the Somerset Spool Ship. The sale covers the business and all first floor equipment plus a four room upstairs apartment. The upstairs will host overnight guests and weekly roomers, Mankamier said.

Airliner Crashes Into Sea Off Kilkee Coast
An airliner bound for the United States from Rome vanished near Kilkee, about 30 miles west of Shannon, after last radio contact at 11 pm GMT. The Transocean Airlines plane, possibly with 47 passengers, triggered an emergency at Shannon airport as crews launched rescue efforts from Kilkee. Captain J Bessey was named as pilot of the missing craft. early reports say the nose of the plane struck the sea two miles offshore.
