A fire about 1 30 Monday afternoon partially destroyed the roof of the John Moore garage on East Main street. Firemen from Somerset extinguished the blaze which spread through a heavy tar paper roof and sent black smoke over the town. Damages were around 200 dollars. Workmen moved nearly a dozen tractor and farm machinery items from the storage area. Firemen wore gas masks while battling the flames in the smoke filled structure.
