Four Men Die In Crash Of Navy Patrol Plane
A long range Navy patrol plane crashed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station during a heavy rainstorm killing four of the 19 aboard. Fifteen survivors were pulled from the wreck in a wooded area near Lexington Park and taken to the base hospital. The Navy said one survivor was in critical condition and that visibility was extremely low. The aircraft, described as a WW2 era aircraft returning from Corpus Christi, Texas, crashed between the runway and a residential district. Killed were Lt.
