Barn Fire Destroys Farm Structure At Gardners Farm
Tuesday evening fire companies battled a blaze at the Lloyd E Gardner farm burning the barn and its contents to ashes. The barn was a total loss and partially insured by Crown Mutual Fire Insurance Co of Somerset. Crown Mutual secretary C C Wagner settled with Gardner before noon Wednesday.

Desperado Killer Of 3 Is Shot Down In Ozarks
William Harris, 39, an ex convict and suspect in the slayings of three people and wounding of two, was killed by deputy sheriff Paul Frey after a two day manhunt in the Ozarks Missouri. Harris fled after a farm home killings that left his daughter Barbara among the dead. Wounded were Rosa Fansler and Elmer Nichols. The pursuit involved over 100 officers and roadblocks six miles southeast of Fremont. Prosecutor Friend Greene cites an earlier argument as trigger for the shooting.

Francis Fruner aged 22 of Listie was committed to the county jail by Squire O Wayne Hay on a charge of operating an overloaded truck. He was released the same day after paying a fine and costs totaling 53 dollars and 50 cents.
