Shankle Sentenced for Burglary in Stiteler Home Incident
Dean Shankle, 21, of Jennertown, was sentenced by Judge Thomas F. Lansberry to 18 months to three years in Western Penitentiary on burglary and related counts for a July 20 break in at Col. W. J. Stiteler Jr. home in Middlecreek township. Damages were estimated at $2000. Shankle also was fined $1 and ordered to make restitution.

Surface treatment planned for Harrison, Orchard avenues and West Garrett street. 150 feet of pipe on West Lanner Street. 125 tons of sand for the sludge bed. street lighting on West Fairview and West Catherine streets. Burgess Schrock reported July fines and licenses at 577.50 and meter receipts at 1703.40, up from 1400.31 last year. Health officer Snyder found no communicable diseases in July after inspecting 54 eating houses.
