The Jennerstown Locker plant on the Lincoln highway was sold for about 82000. Three deeds filed in the Recorder of Deeds office show H A Nichol as trustee for the Pennsylvania Poultry Processing Corporation, formed July 7 1950 by Nichol Donald Turrill P L Harrold Sr Galen M Shober F G Hiester and William Hoffman. The deal includes the plant land and all equipment and installations. Former owners were Paul L Harrold Sr Myrtle Harrold Jr and Kathleen R Harrold. A second adjacent tract was sold to the same corporation by Edward Berkley Stufft and Marion Stufft.

Chicago Woman Injured As Wagon Overturned on Turnpike
Kathryne Lashner of Chicago was injured when her station wagon overturned on the turnpike one mile west of Laurel Hill tunnel Friday night. Her husband Richard and their three year old son were uninjured. John Klemeyer of Vincennes Indiana skidded into a guard fence while avoiding the wreck. Damage to Klemeyer’s car set at 250 dollars.

Manford Pugh. 43, of Friedens, R D 1, near Geiger, suffered a crushed left little finger in a Saxon Coal and Coke mine accident while unloading timber from a conveyor. A roof post was dislodged and rock fell at 10:05 p.m. He received first aid at the mine and was taken to Somerset Community hospital with expected finger loss.

Burley Held For Court On Felonious Charge
Carl Burley a 45 year old Meyersdale butcher was held for the next criminal term after a hearing before Justice Charles J Harrison Jr on felony charges of bringing liquor to prisoners at the county jail. He was arrested after Sheriff Hare allegedly found him drinking wine at the prison garage and a prisoner admitted receiving a drink. Three empty wine bottles were found. Burley also admitted taking a saw from the Newberry building site though later claimed he found it in an alley. If convicted he faces up to five years or a $2000 fine.
