Auto Crashes Into Freight Train Kills One Injures Two
An automobile collided with a Pennsylvania railroad freight train at Sugar Run near Kinzua early today. Duncan Overrein, 26, of Troy died. Wilford Van Camp, 30, of Clarendon was seriously injured. Henry Wegner, 23, of Olean New York was slightly hurt.

At a Berlin borough meeting the council required all East Main street property owners to lay concrete sidewalks to the borough line before school opens. The council also plans tar and chip resurfacing on North Fletcher and Cherry streets, previously treated about three years ago.

About 280 patrons in Berlin borough will switch from magneto to automatic dial phones next week. A 16 year old Connellsville youth named Joseph Adams was fatally injured when struck on the Connellsville Mt Pleas ant highway. He died at a Mt Pleasant hospital of a fractured skull and internal injuries. The body was sent to Connellsville. Identification was made by an uncle.

Railroad Brotherhoods Vote For Big Wage Strikes
In Cleveland on August 4 the five operating railroad brotherhoods voted to strike for a 20 percent wage increase after a three week ballot. The non operating crafts backed a 5 cent per hour raise from a national mediation board settlement effective August 1. Drunken Man Sentenced to 30 Days in Somerset Jail
Bill Maylee of Cutler Ohio was jailed 30 days after being found intoxicated near the Baltimore and Ohio railroad in East Somerset. He faced charges of drunkenness disorderly conduct and trespass after railroad investigators tipped off officers. Brought before Justice Charles J. Harrison the miner and bachelor received the jail term.

20 Years For CIO Bombers
Judge Lynn B. Griffith sentenced four convicted steel strike bombers to one to 20 years in Ohio state prison for illegal possession of explosives linked to three bombings in Warren Ohio during the CIO strike at Republic Steel.
