Five Meyersdale Girls Injured In Auto Wreck
Five Meyersdale young ladies were admitted to Hazel McGilvery hospital after a late Sunday crash on the Macdonaldton road two miles east of Berlin. The 1946 sedan driven by Nancy Potter failed to negotiate a curve due to faulty brakes. Mary Potter and Sally Weld were most seriously injured. Mary Potter remains hospitalized, Sally Weld also injured. Others including Nancy Potter, Sally Hook, and Mary Agnes McKenzie were discharged after treatment. A Berlin ambulance moved the seriously injured to the hospital. the car was beyond repair.

The Somerset Saddle Horse Association turned over 1379.50 to the Children’s Aid Society from the July 11 horse show at Moore Brothers farm. A. M. Glessner Arthur Flickinger and Stanley Hoffman delivered the funds to Mrs. A. D. Graham who announced a new expansion program with a social worker and home improvements. The money was given with no strings attached and plans for a similar show next year are already being made.
