A Boy Scout from Adm. Robert E. Peary council was treated for head injuries at Somerset Community Hospital after being struck by a screen door at camp. Dennis Joyce, 14, of East Pittsburgh, was transferred to Pittsburgh later that day. Terrence McGovern, 10, also from Pittsburgh, sustained a head wound at Camp Rosary and was treated for a laceration.
Harrisburg AP reports that Korean War bonus payments in Pennsylvania are 9 percent complete. State Adjutant Gen A J Drexel Biddle said the Bonus Bureau has paid nearly 85 million dollars to 313,903 veterans in 10 months. Of that total 61,518,037 stayed with residents in state and 23,021,667 went to veterans outside Pennsylvania.
In Elisabethville Congo police deployed armored cars jeeps and a spotter plane to deter potential pay day trouble in the 150000 strong township. Two men, Richard A. Warren and Harvey C. Atkins, were injured when a John Markich truck rolled over several times on legislative route 55043 about three miles north of Rockwood Milford two. Warren and Atkins were admitted to Somerset Community Hospital in satisfactory condition. damages were estimated at $1 860.
In Cozad Nebraska, a small town merchant identified fugitive Gerald Hudson alias Gerald Bennett from FBI circulars. Hudson, a former Pennsylvania inmate who escaped in 1957, was arrested after a handwriting match and a routine store visit. He faces a 25,000 bond and pending district court action in Omaha.
A three vehicle crash Saturday evening in Confluence injured Rev. William Rautner and caused about 1500 in damages. Rautner, en route to a new position in Johnstown, pulled in front of a truck at an intersection. his Volkswagen was pushed into the truck after Spears’ car hit him.
Cologne Germany attorney Robert Servatius said he agreed to defend Adolf Eichmann the man once in charge of the final solution of the Jewish question. He acknowledged the tough task ahead and said he never joined the Nazi party. Eichmann was captured in Argentina and awaits trial in Israel.
A Russian sailor was found drunk aboard the British minesweeper Killiecrankie in drydock at Granton Scotland. He wandered aboard from a nearby Russian freighter and was escorted back to his ship by a night watchman.

A coroner s jury in Somerset County found negligence by drivers Galen Walker and Jerry Skeria in the death of Donges Brant on June 25.
